October Has Come and Gone!

WOW...where has the time gone! We've been busily enjoying the library this October. The Maine Student Book Award program is off and running...the 4th and 5th graders have been reading many of the books on the list in hopes of having as many as possible under their belt before the Battle of the Books competition takes place in the spring! We look forward to defending our 1st and 3rd place titles!

You can take a peek at the 20015-16 MSBA book list and read the summary write-ups to get an idea of the types of books/stories this list holds. So far, the students are enjoying the books and are recommending them to their classmates...this keeps the books and the program alive and well!
Click on this link to browse the MSBA book list and read about the books that have won the Maine Student Book Award:  http://msba.umeedu.maine.edu/
Here are a few of the favorites so far:

The K-3rd graders are participating in the Maine Chickadee Book Program. So far, I have read 2 of the 10 picture books that are on the 2015-16 Chickadee list:

The K-3 students at WBS and students throughout Maine will be voting for their Chickadee book, which will win the award this coming spring.
Check out the other 8 Chickadee Books and past student-choice winning books at:

Come on over to the WBS library and check us out!
Thanks!
