Our West Bath 4th and 5th graders who have joined the Maine Student Book Award Battle of the Books club are doing a fine job reading, studying their battle questions/authors/genres and working in teams to prepare for the RSU1 Battle of the Books competition! The big event will happen at Fisher Mitchell School on April 3rd at 6:30, however, students need to be there by 6:15.
The MSBA after school book club meets on Wednesdays from 3:00-4:00. 19 of our students have joined and formed 4 teams. Our first Battle practice last week went well. We practiced memorizing the book titles and authors. Then we conducted a mock battle round having students earn points as a team for correctly matching author/titles.
Students were assigned to continue studying the book summaries as all round one questions at the competition will be created from this information. Round 2 competition questions will come from the student generated questions all based on actual facts from the books.
Awesome job Battle participants...keep up the good work!
